Trade Copier · The Question

How do I set up Copy Trading on my FTM accounts?

Copy Trading allows you to mirror trades from one of your accounts onto one or more of your other accounts automatically. Here is a step by step guide to setting up your first copy link.

Step 1 — Open the Copy Trading section

From your Trader Area, head over to ‘Connect Accounts’ and click the ‘+ New Copy Link’ button to begin setting up a new link.

Step 2 — Select your source account

You will see a list of your eligible accounts. Select the account you want to use as the source (this is the account whose trades will be mirrored onto your other accounts). You can search through your accounts using the query bar at the top.

Note that any account already mirroring onto others will not appear in this list. To add another target to an existing link, use the Add Follower option on that link instead.

Also note that Copy Trading is not available for TradeLocker accounts. Only eligible accounts will appear in the selection list.

Step 3 — Choose your scaling mode

Select how you want the volume to be scaled across your linked accounts. There are four options:

  • Current Balance Ratio — scales volume based on the current balance of each linked account relative to the source
  • Starting Balance Ratio — scales volume based on the starting balance of each linked account relative to the source
  • Fixed Multiplier — applies a fixed multiplier to the source volume on every copy
  • Fixed Lot — copies every trade at a fixed lot size regardless of source volume

Step 4 — Select your target accounts

Choose one or more accounts to receive the copied trades. These are your destination accounts. Each target will display its current balance and the scaling multiplier that will apply based on your chosen scaling mode.

You can link accounts across different programs.

Step 5 — Configure your options

You have three optional settings and two lot size controls:

  • Copy Stop Loss — when enabled, the source account's stop loss is placed on each copy at the same price level
  • Copy Take Profit — when enabled, the source account's take profit is placed on each copy at the same price level
  • Copy Pending Orders — when enabled, the source account's limit and stop orders are mirrored so both fill at the same price. When disabled, a pending order is only copied once it fills on the source, and the copy enters at whatever the market price is at that moment

Minimum Lot — any copy sized below this value is rounded up to it. Leave empty for no minimum.

Maximum Lot — any copy sized above this value is cut down to it. Leave empty for no maximum.

Note that any copied volume below the symbol's minimum lot is automatically rounded up. If the target account does not have enough free margin to accommodate the rounded size, that copy is skipped entirely and will not be placed later.

Step 6 — Accept the terms and create the link

Before creating the link, check the box confirming you have read and accepted the Copy Trading Terms. You can access the full terms by clicking the link next to the checkbox. Once accepted, click Create Copy Link to activate.

A few important things to know before you start

  • Your account rules, drawdown limits and program conditions apply to every trade on every linked account whether placed by you or copied
  • Pausing or deleting a link stops further copying but does not close positions already open on linked accounts. You are responsible for managing those yourself
  • Trades opened on the source while a link is paused will not be copied when the link is resumed
  • The copy engine can experience delays or failures. You are required to monitor all linked accounts at all times regardless of whether copy trading is active

How do I add another target to an existing link?

If your source account is already linked and does not appear in the source selection list, go to your existing copy link and use the Add Follower option to add another target account to it.
